For many professionals, franchising can be a way to take greater control of their future and build long-term financial stability.

This workshop will provide a realistic and comprehensive overview of the franchise model, including what it takes to succeed and how to determine whether franchising is the right fit for your goals, skills, and financial situation.

Franchising extends far beyond fast food and retail. Today, franchise opportunities exist across a wide range of industries, investment levels, and business models.

Diana Trondsen,  Franchise Consultant 

Diana Trondsen is the Owner and Franchise Consultant of FranNet of Houston & The Gulf Coast Region. With more than 25 years of experience in the franchise industry, she has helped individuals transition into business ownership by identifying franchise opportunities that align with their goals, transferable skills, and long-term vision. Since 2009, Diana has built a reputation for her personalized approach, strategic guidance, and commitment to client success.

Based in Houston, Diana focuses primarily on serving her local community. Her industry expertise is rooted in a lifetime of experience, beginning with hands-on involvement in her family’s multi-unit franchise operations and later as a successful franchise owner herself. This firsthand knowledge gives her practical insight into franchise systems, operations, and scalability. Diana is also a strong advocate for franchise education and small business development, regularly partnering with organizations such as the SBA, SBDC, and SCORE to provide educational workshops and seminars. Diana earned her degree in Maritime Administration from Texas A&M University. 

Kimberly Thomas, Fort Bend SBDC Director 

She has a strong background in the banking industry, having worked for over twenty years, with the last seventeen years at JP Morgan Chase as a Vice President in Retail Branch Banking. Her expertise includes customer service, financial planning, and business advising, which she leverages to help small businesses grow and succeed. Kimberly is also passionate about community service and has volunteered for various organizations.

The City of Fulshear Economic Development Corporation invites residents who are interested in becoming franchisees to attend the Franchise Workshop, where they can learn more about what it takes to become a franchise owner, network with the experts and learn about resources available to business owners in Fulshear.
