Type A Economic Development Corporation (EDC) is typically created to fund industrial development projects, such as business infrastructure, manufacturing and research and development. Type A EDCs can also fund military base realignment, job training classes and public transportation. 

The Type A EDC Fund provides for the incorporation of local sales tax collected by the corporation under the state statute governing Type A EDCs. The Type A Capital Projects Fund accounts for the ongoing projects of the Corporation. These funds are designated as Special Revenue Fund.
