We want to remind residents to do background checks on the companies you hire. You can check companies with the Better Business Bureau. You can also inquire with the City if the company has ever been registered and worked in the City before.

The City cannot recommend any contractors nor can we deny them a permit until it is too late. Once a company has defrauded a homeowner then the City will reject any future permit applications and registrations from them. The key is to use reputable companies with verifiable history.
