Youth Advisory Commission

Thank you for your interest in the City of Fulshear Youth Advisory Commission! Fulshear high school students who are interested in community service and learning about City operations may want to apply to serve on the City's Youth Advisory Commission.

Are you a high school student looking to make a difference in your community? The City of Fulshear is now accepting applications for the Fulshear Youth Advisory Commission (FYAC)! This is your opportunity to gain real-world experience in local government, build leadership skills, and have a voice in shaping the future of Fulshear.

Application Deadline: June 30, 2026

City Council will appoint members in August. To be eligible for consideration, students must reside with the City of Fulshear city limits. They must also be in the 10th, 11th or 12th grade at the start of the 2026-27 academic year.

Mission

 

The mission of the City’s Youth Commission is to provide a forum which educates Fulshear's youth to the various workings of City business and allows youth to be a voice to address their particular ideas and concerns.

Purpose

  • To provide input on youth services and programming to City Council and City Staff.
  • To address issues that affect youth in the community.
  • To assist with the promotion and implementation of ongoing seasonal events and activities.
  • To generate an annual report on the progress of the Youth Advisory Commission.

 


 

YAC Membership Requirements

  • Enrolled in the 10th – 12th grade for the upcoming school year
  • Lives within the City of Fulshear city limits (Am I a Resident)
  • Be willing to help the community by participating in various events and volunteering to work service hours.
  • Attending regular YAC meetings and events
