City of Fulshear Economic Development Corporation Launches Business Retention and Expansion Program

FULSHEAR, TX - The City of Fulshear Economic Development team has launched a Business Retention and Expansion Program to strengthen relationships with local businesses and better understand what they need to succeed.

Through regular, conversational business visits, the team will listen to business owners and leaders, connect them with resources and identify concerns that may affect retention or growth. Visits will include all new and existing major employers and small businesses such as retailers, restaurants and service-based businesses.

“Our local businesses are the heartbeat of our community, and the formalizing of a Business Retention and Expansion Program will help ensure that the lines of communication are open and that our businesses know we are here to support them,” said Annel Guadalupe, economic development director.

The program’s goal is to complete 20 to 30 business visits each year, or about two to three visits per month. Conversations may cover business conditions, workforce and infrastructure needs, expansion plans, grant assistance and other forms of support.

“The businesses that have already chosen to invest in Fulshear are a critical part of our community and our continued economic success. This program gives us an opportunity to be more intentional about building relationships with these businesses, understanding the challenges they face and connecting them with the resources they need to grow and succeed,” said Blake Koepke, president of the Fulshear Development Corporation.
