City Council Approves New Small Business Grant Program Through Fulshear Development Corporation

Post Date:12/19/2025

FULSHEAR, TEXAS – The Fulshear City Council has approved the adoption of the Fulshear Development Corporation (FDC) Small Business Grant Program, a new initiative designed to support and strengthen local small businesses within the community.

The program includes $50,000 in funding dedicated to providing financial assistance to eligible small businesses in Fulshear. The grant program is intended to help local entrepreneurs invest in their operations, enhance visibility, and contribute to the long-term economic vitality of the city.

The Small Business Grant Program was developed through a collaborative effort between FDC staff and Fulshear Development Corporation members Jennifer Hagemann and Debra Drescher, who each brought valuable perspectives to the process.

Drescher’s extensive background in community and economic development helped shape the program’s structure and guidelines. With experience working alongside more than 90 cities across Texas on downtown revitalization initiatives, she provided insight into best practices and strategies that support sustainable, long-term growth.

Hagemann contributed the viewpoint of the local business community, drawing on her firsthand experience as a small business owner in Downtown Fulshear. Her input helped ensure the program addresses the real-world challenges and opportunities faced by small businesses and provides practical, meaningful support.

The Fulshear Development Corporation formally adopted the Small Business Grant Program on October 20, 2025, and it was presented to City Council for final consideration and approval. With Council’s action, the program is now officially approved and ready for implementation.

The Small Business Grant Program reflects the City of Fulshear’s continued commitment to supporting entrepreneurship, encouraging local investment, and fostering a vibrant business environment that benefits residents and visitors alike.

Additional details regarding eligibility, application requirements, and timelines will be shared by the Fulshear Development Corporation as the program is rolled out.

For updates and future announcements, residents and business owners are encouraged to visit the City’s website and follow the City of Fulshear on social media.
