E-Scooter and E-Bike Safety Under New Ordinance

Post Date:11/20/2025

Fulshear, Texas — The City of Fulshear has launched a coordinated community education campaign to help residents understand and safely comply with the City’s newly adopted ordinance regulating the use of electric scooters and electric bikes. The initiative focuses on increasing public awareness, promoting responsible riding behaviors, and ensuring the safety of pedestrians, students, and neighborhood streets.

The ordinance, adopted earlier this fall, establishes rules for where and how e-scooters and e-bikes can operate within city limits. As these devices grow in popularity among teens and young adults, City leaders have prioritized clear messaging to keep riders and the community safe.

To support this effort, the City’s Communications Department has begun sharing safety reminders across multiple platforms, including social media, the City website, and upcoming community events. Messaging focuses on helmet use, speed awareness, avoiding sidewalks near busy pedestrian areas, and following proper crossing practices at intersections.

Fulshear Youth Advisory Commission (YAC) members have also been invited to participate in the educational effort. During their November meeting, commissioners discussed ways youth can help spread the word among their peers—especially through platforms like Snapchat, Instagram, and school communications. While members cannot coordinate messaging as a quorum outside public meetings, individual members are encouraged to share City-issued safety content to help amplify the message within their social circles.

In addition to digital outreach, the City is developing informational graphics, school-friendly versions of the ordinance highlights, and short video reminders that will roll out over the coming weeks. These materials are designed to be easily shared by families, HOAs, schools, and youth organizations.

Residents can learn more about the ordinance and ongoing safety updates here or following official City of Fulshear social media channels.
