Fulshear, Texas, August 7, 2025 - In an effort to improve safety and traffic flow around schools, the Fulshear City Council has approved Ordinance No. 2025-1503, prohibiting vehicles from stopping, standing, or parking within a 0.25-mile radius of any school in the city during school pickup and drop-off times. This ordinance aims to reduce congestion, improve visibility, and ensure the safety of children, families, and drivers during the busiest times of the school day.
This new regulation was developed in partnership with the Fulshear Police Department and Council Members, following concerns over traffic congestion and pedestrian safety in school zones.
Key details:
- Applies to all roadways within a 0.25-mile radius of each school, including residential and nonresidential streets.
- Signage will be installed at the entrances of affected neighborhoods to notify drivers.
Exceptions: Residents and their guests may still park directly in front of their homes. The rule is only in effect during designated school arrival and dismissal hours on school days.
